Marble Arch Tower
At the opposite end of Oxford Street to Centre Point, Marble Arch Tower is another landmark building in the West End. At 82 metres tall, it has spectacular views of Hyde Park to one side and Europe’s busiest shopping street to the other.
We acquired Marble Arch Tower in the summer of 2011, having identified it as one of the most prominent and recognised locations in Central London. It is a further sign of our confidence in the long-term future of the West End, where the ratio of supply to demand remains very attractive.
This is a highly complex site with many physical, legal and planning issues to unravel. It requires real property expertise and sustained commitment to unlock its outstanding potential. In that respect, it is a signature Almacantar project.
The site currently comprises a 173,000 sq ft mixed-use property on the corner of the western end of Oxford Street and the northern end of Park Lane. This includes a 21-storey office tower with uninterrupted views of Hyde Park, shops fronting Marble Arch and Edgware Road, and an Odeon cinema.
We see the potential for a large-scale mixed-use development combining prime residential, office, retail, restaurant and cinema space. The result could have a transformational effect on this end of Oxford Street, which remains Europe’s busiest shopping thoroughfare, as well as an increasingly diverse centre for living and working.
